Active Citizens Fund - Strengthening the capacity and sustainability of FOND and of the organizations active in the field of International development cooperation in Romania

In order to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of FOND, but also of the organizations active in the field of international development cooperation in Romania, FOND carries out the following activities:
  • Organization of national conferences on topics related to the field;
  • Organization of training and training sessions, in accordance with the identified needs of the main beneficiaries and target groups of the project;
  • Multi-year strategic planning and organizational development, at the level of the Federation and member organizations;
  • Conducting research, monitoring, advocacy and networking activities at national level;
  • Increasing the visibility of FOND activities and member organizations in the field.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of FOND and its members in order to contribute to the proper implementation of the national development cooperation policy and the involvement of non-governmental organizations in this endeavor (both at the consultation level and through concrete projects), but also to change of attitudes regarding the reluctance of public actors (especially at the political level) to collaborate with the NGO sector.

The project contributes to the strengthening of FOND's monitoring and advocacy capacities at the national and regional level, by developing at least two public policies in the field of international cooperation for development, by involvement in public debates, facilitating dialogue and strengthening relations with relevant stakeholders at the national and European level. Moreover, the project contributes to strengthening the organizational capacities of FOND by developing tools for strategic planning, monitoring and evaluating the activity, strengthening the organizational capacities of the members through training sessions in the fields of organizational management and the development of public policies and strengthening the leadership capacities of the Board of Directors.

The implementation period of the project is 01.04.2020-30.09.2023.
