Iuliana Rada  is the coordinator of this WG.

The Development Education Working Group has been established in 2007 and over the years, different events have been organized.

In 2007: Development Education training – Alternative, Opportunity, Instruments (28th – 29th of May): Advocacy and Awareness Raising Resources for Development Education (AARRDE).

Moreover, in the same year, as a Group initiative, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (17th of October) has been celebrated. School activities have been organized with the occasion of the International Peace day and 3 representatives of the WG have participated to the Summer School in Slovakia.

In 2008, with the TRIALOG support, a training on project writing was organized, and financed by the NSA-LA (Non-state Actors and Local Authorities) of the European Commission. The members of the WG have had the possibility to participate at the “Are we on the Right Track?” conference and also to the DEEEP Summer School, which took place in Netherlands in June. As follow-up, the members continued to be involved in the process of raising awareness for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and the International day of Social Justice (20th of February).

FOND supported the Development Education Summer School, which took place in June 2009 at Cheile Gradistei. The event was organized by DEEEP, in partnership with CONCORD and PATRIR and has reunited over 90 participants from all around the globe.

In 2010, the National Seminar “Adapting development education to the present context” was organized during 8th- 9th of July in Bucharest. The event is an initiative of the WG and has been organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the financial support of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe.
